The B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is a 4 years degree course offered by AKTMCET and affiliated to Anna University. This course caters the need in an information age when rapid technology breakthroughs like sensors, GPUs, and cloud storage have made it possible for us to gather, process, and store vast amounts of data. These developments improved the way that neural networks and machine learning were applied in many other domains, including robotics, machine vision, voice recognition, and natural language processing. The curriculum has a flexibility that a student can also optionally register for additional courses (18 credits) and become eligible for the award of B.E. / B. Tech. (Honours) or Minor Degree. For B.E. / B. Tech. (Honours), a student shall register for the additional courses (18 credits) from semester V onwards. The convergence of these fields of study led to the transformation of information systems into intelligent systems. While data and information are essential to AI systems, data science applications are not limited to AI systems. It is extensively utilized in the fields of business analytics, sports, and healthcare. Since artificial intelligence and data science are multidisciplinary fields, AKTMCET has established a dedicated department to study, train, and support students' academic success.
